Ram Jagannathan, PhD is a postdoctoral fellow with Emory Global Diabetes Research Center. Prior to this appointment, he did his postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center. He completed a BSc and MSc in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Madras, and PhD in Clinical Medicine (Research) at the Imperial College, London in association with India Diabetes Research Foundation, India. His project was funded by United Kingdom-India Education Research Initiative, UK. Dr. Rams’ PhD research broadly investigates the effectiveness of mobile phone based applications in the prevention of diabetes and to identify the association of simple predictors / novel biomarkers with incident diabetes and complications. Ram’s research area of interest is in the field of translational medicine, mobile health, primary prevention of Type 2 Diabetes and identification of novel biomarkers for Type 2 Diabetes and its complications.
