Biography
Dr. Lynn Engelberg Glenn’s research focuses on rural, low-income adults with Type 2 Diabetes and examining socioecological factors that influence prevention efforts. With over 30 years of clinical experience, including developing a diabetes case-management program in rural South Carolina, she specializes in creating sustainable health programs for mothers at risk for diabetes and hypertension in rural Georgia.
Her work aims to improve diabetes screening, preventive care and health outcomes for younger adult (ages 18–45), underserved and rural populations. She has investigated disparities in glucose screening for high-risk women and has developed pilot interventions to encourage timely screenings. Dr. Glenn collaborates with community stakeholders to address health disparities, promote earlier recognition of diabetes, and reduce diabetes-related complications.
A strong advocate for equitable healthcare, Dr. Glenn has served as a provider for the CDC-funded Best Chance Network in South Carolina and uninsured Hispanic populations in Georgia. As Assistant Professor at Augusta University College of Nursing, she mentors doctoral nursing and medical students. She is also actively involved with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and has served on the advisory board for the Women’s Interprofessional Network (WIN-ADA), contributing to initiatives that address rural health inequities.
