Biography


Dr. Joyce Ho is an associate professor in Computer Science at Emory University. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and holds both an M.A. and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Ho’s groundbreaking research leverages the power of diverse data streams—ranging from electronic health records and wearable devices to social media and environmental data—to gain critical insights into patients with cardio-metabolic diseases. Her contributions have been recognized with best paper awards at AMIA and the Machine Learning for Health Symposium. Dr. Ho’s research is generously supported by the NSF (including a prestigious CAREER award), NIH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Johnson & Johnson. Currently, she also serves as a voting member on an FDA advisory panel for health digital technologies.
