Study Reports on Achievement of Diabetes Care Targets among Adults in India

A new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, led by researchers at the Emory Global Diabetes Research Center, uncovered disparities in the diabetes continuum of care in India. This includes the diagnosis, treatment, and control of diabetes, the rates of which vary greatly between geographic areas and sociodemographic groups.

Emory Global Diabetes Research Center Faculty Authors New Diabetes Textbook

To better addresses diabetes from a comprehensive, multidisciplinary perspective, Springer released its 2nd Edition of The Diabetes Textbook: Clinical Principles, Patient Management and Public Health Issues. The textbook integrates information on diabetes from specialists in various disciplines, such as epidemiology and public health, many of which include researchers and health professionals engaged with the EGDRC and its global partners.

Emory study indicates structural racism is accelerating the diabetes crisis in the U.S

A narrative literature review published in Lancet, led by Saria Hassan, MD, assistant professor at Emory University School of Medicine and Rollins School of Public Health, and co-authored by faculty of EGDRC and Morehouse School of Medicine, addresses and summarizes the current understanding of diabetes disparities by examining differences between and within race and ethnic groups and among young people aged 18 years and younger.

AI has become widespread across the arts and sciences, including public health. EGDRC aims to become a leader in AI and diabetes while ensuring that AI promotes equity, one of the center's guiding principles.
