Erica Kocher


Biography


Erica Kocher is a doctoral student in Nutrition and Health Sciences at Emory University. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Yale University, and a Master of Public Health in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from the Yale School of Public Health.

Erica’s research focuses on how to deliver high-quality services for diabetes and cardiovascular disease in low- and middle-income countries. She is particularly interested in how to use epidemiologic, economic, and implementation science evidence to support health system strengthening. Prior to beginning her PhD at Emory, Erica was an analyst at RTI International at the Center for Global Noncommunicable Diseases. At Emory she works on research related to strengthening of diabetes and hypertension care in primary healthcare facilities in India, and integration of noncommunicable diseases services for people with HIV in Kenya.
