Wilhemina Quarpong


Biography


Wilhemina Quarpong is a PhD candidate in the Nutrition & Health Sciences program at Emory University. She has academic training in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Ghana and Public Health from the University of Nottingham. Her research interests and experience include using population-based approaches to prevent malnutrition in all its forms and investigating how nutritional, lifestyle, and biological factors influence the development of cardiometabolic diseases. Her current work explores the connection between female reproductive history and metabolic conditions, including diabetes and obesity. Prior to joining Emory, she worked on an IDRC-funded project that focused on generating evidence for policy actions to improve the food environments of children.
