Biography
Dr. Johnson received her Master of Public Health from Rollins School of Public Health in 2014, and her PhD in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University in 2018. As a 2016-17 Fogarty Global Health Scholar, she completed a realist process evaluation of the INtegrated DEPrEssioN and Diabetes treatmENT (INDEPENDENT) trial, a multi-site clinical trial aimed at testing the integration of a depression-focused intervention into existing diabetes care in India. Dr. Johnson has since conducted mixed-methods research as a part of two mindfulness-based intervention studies focused on addressing health disparities among individuals with chronic diseases. Dr. Johnson has particular expertise in qualitative research and her current research interests focus on implementation science and health service research as it relates to chronic disease management.
