Biography


Dongmei Zuo is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Hubert Department of Global Health (HDGH) at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, as well as affiliated with Emory Global Diabetes Research Center (EGDRC). She received her Ph.D. at the Social Science Program of the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs at Syracuse University in 2023. Dongmei’s  research lies at the intersection of demography, sociology, and epidemiology with a focus on the health and wellbeing of older adults. Dongmei is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable and marginalized populations, both in China and the United States. Her research focuses on healthy aging, obesity dynamics, and chronic disease prevention. Her previous investigation delved into the complexity of the connections between public health policies like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, healthcare expenses, cognitive health, and food insecurity. Dongmei is currently working on a NIH R01 project led by Dr. Solveig Cunningham to study the risks and dynamics of chronic diseases and multimorbidity in the U.S. adult population.
